After a lot of delays and hassle, I finally arrived in Oakland last night at 8.50pm (I was supposed to arrive at 12.30). Amita and Sasha met me at the airport, and Sasha has a bad cough. The poor baby is under the weather.
This morning, Sasha said goodbye to mom. We played in the living room, coloring books and watched 2 cartoons. Then we went looking for nana in the cottage, she was looking for her cuckoo nana. Was very disappointed that nana was gone.
At 11am, the scheduled time for antibiotics, she did cry and refused to take her medicine. I brought my treasure of medicine and said we will both take medicines. I showed her how big girls take their medicine, so she opened the mouth and took the antibiotic without a single tear. Whew, what an accomplishment!
Changing diapers is another story. I think the rash hurts her, so I asked her if the big girl would like a bath. She said no initially, but then got in the sink for a bath. Absolutely no crying, played with her toys and I was able to shampoo her also. Coming out of the bath was another story, the sink was filled with tears. Finally managed to get her come out, give her an oil massage, put fresh diaper and clothes, and even comb her hair. All accomplished with few tears.
She hardly ate a few pieces of pasta for lunch, half a scrambed egg for breakfast, and a few pieces of bread for breakfast. I guess the antibiotics kills the appetite. She had 2 bottles of milk around 2pm and is currently sleeping.
All the dolls and Sasha are wearing Tika, and she's very pleased with this accomplishment. The new doll is her favorite, it cries like a new born baby. I feel terrible that Ami and Greg will have to listen to it all the time. What twagedy...
The little angel is very reasonable. We go for a walk as soon as she wakes up. I'm not pushing her too much because she does look sick. Hope to see perky Sasha soon. It's been a pretty good day so far...
Love to all of you. Let's keep in touch through the e-mail at least. Sri has arrived safely in Bangalore, and we're all safe wherever we are. Amita had cooked a nice dinner for us last night. I enjoyed it very much. Feel rested and excited about life with Sasha. We've read 2-3 books, and we played with balls in the backyard. It has been a fun day so far. Sashu wants to eat Pizza, every time they showed it on the TV, she said Sasha eat Pizza. Let's see what she really wants.
With lots of love to all of you from Sasha and myself.
